Forth is located on the River Forth only a few kms east of Ulverstone, 13 km west of Devonport and 111 km northwest of Launceston via the Bass Highway. Previously known as Hamilton-on-Forth this small, attractive village actually pre-dates the larger settlement of Devonport. The River Forth was used in the mid-nineteenth century to ship out the produce and timber from the surrounding area and the town of Forth was actually laid out before Devonport.

The riverside village of Forth is now a beautiful picturesque, and peaceful place to live and visit, and subsequently provides the perfect venue for the Forth Valley Blues Festival. Right next to the Forth River, sheltered from most prevailing winds, and surrounded by beautiful green rolling hills and local farmland, this is sure one brilliant spot to relax and listen to great blues music!
